With signage it is imperative to get your message across, conveying a message on a billboard is a completely different task to doing the same for a reception sign. Therefore when we design a sign we will ask you what sort of sign you need and tailor the content to suit the type of sign.

Colour and Emotions

One of the most important things to consider in any design is colour. It helps you communicate your brand, it can make you standout and it can evoke emotions.

Red communicates: love, action, determination, life, power to name a few.
Yellow communicates: energy, warmth, caution, creativity, vision, sunshine, joy.
Blue communicates: calm, wisdom, authority, reliability, peace, loyalty, trust.
Green communicates: growth, nature, relaxation, environment, rebirth, optimism.
Orange communicates: energy, success, modern, productivity, strength, determination.
Purple communicates: wealth, inspiration, ambition, magic, dignity, royalty, mystery.

The intensity of a colour is also important when designing, putting two intense colours together can sometimes create havoc on your eyes and make it difficult to convey a message as they are fighting for your attention. For example:

Legibility

Another consideration is how the letters are spaced, some fonts (type styles) are more prone to have more dramatic spacing variations

So as a general idea, if you have a particular font that needs to be used it may be necessary to modify the letter spacing, line spacing, stacking and perspective for legibility.

Overcrowding...
